Chairman John Schwarz called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. In attendance were the Town Board - Doug Koffarnus was absent, Hickory Meadows Landfill personnel Kari Rabideau. 7 citizens signed the roll call.
Gerald Lintner made a motion to approve the 2012 Annual Meeting minutes, second by Marvin Heinrich , motion carried.
Dave Gasch explained how market value verses par value works on the financial statement. Ed Wenig made a motion to approve the 2012 Annual Report, second by Gerald Lintner, motion carried.
The 2012 Community Fund was reviewed. Steve Woelfel made a motion to send Fund Chairperson Anita Harder a thank you and pay her $250 instead of $200 if she has not had a raise in the last five years, second by Al Schneider, motion carried.
Kari Rabideau reported that Hickory Meadows Landfill along with all of Veolia’s solid waste division has been bought by Advanced Disposal. Cell 6 was approved in March 2013. $3.06 per ton is the new host fee. They expect 150,00 -285,000 tons of PCB sediment in 2013. A judge will decide who is going to pay for the clean up. The gas energy plant remains with Veolia and they are planning on a open house in August.
Recycling was discussed with no real changes expected. Steve Woelfel questioned about the use of recycle barrels instead of the bags we now use, Advanced Disposal replied that they would check into it. The number of tires allowed for tire recycling was suggested to change to 8 per household address.
Dave Gasch explained the history of the well testing in the Town and that this years testing will again be in June. When questioned on results from 2012, Dave explained that results were about the same as 2011.
John Schwarz reported on slurry seal and why it was used on Quinney Road last year and explained the reasons for using this instead of chip seal. John also reported on other road maintenance.
Lanetta Mahlberg made a motion to set the date for the 2014 Annual Meeting for Monday, April 21, 2014, at 8:00 p.m., second by Paul Juckem, motion carried.
Andy Pethan made a motion to adjourn, second by Al Schneider, motion carried.
