Town Board Meeting
October 11, 2010
Chairman John Schwarz called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. In attendance were the Town Board, John Karls, Glenroy Heimermann, Ed Wenig, Steve Woelfel, Dave Juckem, Marv Heinrich, Todd Wollersheim, Pete Gambsky, and Judy Parker.
Public Comments: It was questioned if the Town was charged for a fire call if the fire was reported before it was lit. It appears that any fire call in the Town is counted. Pete Gambsky presented a form for opting out of the Agricultural Enterprise area. The Board agreed that this would be a good thing to send to every land owner in the Town. The next Town Board meeting was set for November 15, 2010 as a conflict for the second Monday has come up.
Tim Lau made a motion to approve the minutes from the September 13, 2010 meeting, second by Andy Pethan, motion carried.
Andy Pethan made a motion to approve the treasurers report, second by Tim Lau, motion carried.
Andy Pethan made a motion to pay all bills presented, second by Tim Lau, motion carried.
Communications: The bridge inspection report was reviewed. One bridge on Killsnake Road needs the guardrails raised. The Board reviewed and approved the Personal Property list to be put in the 2011 tax roll. The Chilton Fire Department contract was reported to remain almost the same as 2010. Tim Lau made a motion to make a payment in kind to the New Holstein 1st Responders as they cover the southern edge of the Town at no charge, second by Andy Pethan, motion carried. The County Administrator contacted Chairman Schwarz about the Town replacing the bridge on County E. The Board agreed that this will not happen.
Tim Lau made a motion to amend ordinance 2004-1, section 4, second by Andy Pethan, motion carried. This amendment eliminated the number 3 in the creation of the Plan Commission, as it can only be at least a 5 person Board.
Chairman Schwarz appointed the Plan Commission, he stated that he wanted three members from the Zoning Advisory Board, one Town Board member, and he also chose the first person to volunteer. The Plan Commission was appointed as follows: 1 year term-Don Voogt, 2 year term-Tim Lau and Steve Woelfel and 3 year term- Pete Gambsky and Dave Juckem. Steve Woelfel was appointed as Chairperson. Tim Lau made a motion to approve all appointed members of the Plan Commission, second by Andy Pethan, motion carried.
Roadwork: Elm Road has been finished. John Karls was advised to check the shouldering width. A drainage problem on Hickory Hills Road by Dave Siegwarth was discussed as the land operators would like to have it fixed. They would like to install a culvert if the grade works. The Board said they would rather see the size of the culvert in the driveway increased instead. This will be resolved after all ideas were checked out. A possible culvert on Twain Road by Larry Oakley was also again brought up. The Board will look into this problem.
Property changes: Craig Weninger-removed silo and Amy Laubenstein-new garage.
The Board agreed to meet on October 18 to prepare the 2011 budget.
Tim Lau made a motion to adjourn at 9:20 p.m., second by Andy Pethan, motion carried.
Respectfully submitted,
Doug Koffarnus, Clerk
