Town Board Meeting
Chairman John Schwarz called the meeting to order at 8:00pm and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. In attendance were the Town Board, Marvin Heinrich, Kyle Hackbarth, and Marilyn Lautenschlager.
Public Comments: None.
Conditional Use Permits for Kyle Hackbarth, Marilyn Lautenschlager, and Preston Schwalenberg that were approved by the Plan Commission were reviewed and approved by the Town Board.
Discussion again took place on replacing the concrete pad in front of the shop. Tim Lau made a motion to hire G.W. Construction to replace the concrete with the same thickness that is there for an approximate cost of $20,000, second by John Schwarz, motion carried by roll call vote. Yes – Schwarz and Lau. No – Pethan.
Seal coating bids were awarded to Scott Construction. Roads to be sealed with black slag include: McHugh Road from Killsnake to Hickory Hills, Hickory Hills Road from Hwy 57 to east Town line, Schneider Road from Hwy 57 to east Town line, Schneider Road from Cty BB to landfill entrance, Faro Springs Road, and the Town’s parking lot for a cost of $110,970. Hickory Meadows landfill will pay for Schneider Road from the landfill entrance to Hwy 57 at a cost of $28,575.
Andy Pethan made a motion to approve the minutes from the May 8 and 15, 2017 meetings. Second by Tim Lau, motion carried.
Andy Pethan made a motion to approve the Treasurers report, second by Tim Lau, motion carried. The Board agreed to put the Board of Audit on July’s agenda as they will write off the $29.68 mistake that cannot be found.
Tim Lau made a motion to pay all bills presented, second by Andy Pethan, motion carried.
Communications: Tim Lau made a motion to grant the authority to Birschbach Inspection to act on the Towns behalf for electronic permits, second by Andy Pethan, motion carried. Jeff Schwarz asked if he could start early to mow Schneider Road to avoid truck traffic. The Board denied this request. Jeff asked the Board as how much of the ditch should be mowed and when. The Board advised Jeff to mow the complete ditch twice a year.
Discussion took place on an ordinance to allow ATV’s and UTV’s to use Town roads. The Board agreed to meet with legal counsel for instruction on this matter.
Andy Pethan made a motion to approve all liquor, beer and tobacco license applications, second by Tim Lau, motion carried.
Tim Lau made a motion to approve all Operator license applications, second by Andy Pethan, motion carried.
Tim Lau made a motion to adjourn at 9:45pm, second by Andy Pethan, motion carried.
